The Migrating Kitchen Trust celebrates cultural diversity. After the first Migrating Kitchen exhibition at Pataka Museum of Arts and Cultures in 2007, the curators Jennifer Bush-Daumec and Anna Cottrell set up the trust to celebrate diversity.
The Trust’s objectives are:
To encourage and provide opportunities for people in Aotearoa New Zealand to showcase their culture, celebrate history and share stories in exhibitions, media and public events – to break down barriers in the interests of tolerance and understanding.
To promote public education programmes in Aotearoa New Zealand in partnership with ethnic communities; to celebrate racial diversity, promote tolerance and understanding, and foster peace by showcasing cultures – and cuisine.

Migrating Kitchen Exhibition 2009 DVD + Study Guides
DVD and information booklet for the Migrating Kitchen Exhibition 2009 is available for schools and community groups. DVD contains six 10 minute migrant and refugee stories and a resource booklet with activities. Afghan, Chilean, Cook Island, Indian, Italian, and Zimbabwean families share their history, their festivals and their food.

DVD and information booklet for the Migrating Kitchen Exhibition 2007 is available for schools and community groups. Communities are: Burma/Myanmar, China, Greece, Russia, Samoa and Somalia.
